Guinea pigs should be adopted in pairs as they are social animals and require bonded pairs to be content/ happy. They can feel sad/depressed when alone.
· guinea pigs cannot make their own vitamin c so it's crucial for them to have a daily supplement.
· guinea pigs require a bigger cage than most people think. Many of the store bought cages are simply too small and many people make their own c&c cages. I'll send photos of my cage set up as an example. cage clean up is important and takes up time everyday!
· guinea pigs should get floor time and lap time. which means some time out of their cage.
· Many people see guinea pigs are "starter pets" but they actually require a lot of time and energy.

· guinea pigs can live for years-- I've had mine for 7 years. In their old age they require extra attention. My guinea pigs have arthritis and heart disease but with medication they are doing well for now
